    It's quadratic trinomials and I can't get the answer to this. Could anyone do it clearly explained what you did please? Thanks so much

    3x(squared) + 8x -3

      3 squared plus 8 squared minus 3

      3x^2 + 8x -3

      Brackets first

      (3x )(x )

      then multiply the coefficient of the x^2 by the constant, 3 x -3, and get -9.

      then work out what two numbers can give a sum of +8, yet give a product of -9.

      Numbers are 9 and -1.

      Then fill in brackets

      (3x -1)(x + 3)
