    Blood Cell Names what.the.matter.is.the

Leucocytes ( White Blood Cells )

    Phagocytosis - Engulfing Cells -

Phagocytes - The white cells that do this.

    Monocytes - Large Phagocytes.

Lymphocytes - The rest of white cells produce antibodies.

Thrombocytes - Platelets ~ Thrombosis is the clotting of blood in the vessels.

    Erythrocytes - Red Blood Cells

Do I have to study all these? Does anyone have a clue if they are important in the course? I know their functions and everything else about them but the names are confusing the hell out of me :x

From the syllabus: More detailed treatment of red blood cells

      – e.g. absence of nucleus, absence of

      mitochondria. White blood cells –

      classification as lymphocytes and monocytes.
