im in 6th year, and right now there are alot of definitions you need to know, so i'd say get a little notepad to write down all the definitions in to help you learn them :)

      It's hard and confusing :)

I'm in fifth year and I absolutely hate it, it's probably my worst subject. I just can't get my head around the maths part of it, like for volumetric analysis and stoichiometry? I don't know how people who do ordinary maths can do it cause I'm in higher and I'm struggling with it!

i hated it too in 5th year, but youll learn to love it in sixth year organic chemistry is very easy :)

I love it but have no idea what's happening.... I hate the maths, the definitions, well they take ages to learn, overall, I just like watching some liquid stuff turn a different colour :L

Starting out yes it difficult but things start piecing together and explaining each other and by the end you'll have a super pretty jigsaw (but a globe jigsaw kuz it's hard :L)

sixth year :3 watch out how you word your answers. you'll be penalised for badly phrased answers and definitions. When describing how to carry out titrations or make up a standard solution, make sure the steps are in the right order and the specific solutions are given :) look at the marking schemes..big help. ( I have the scariest chemistry teacher ever!) lol

Fifth year, yeah it's tough. There's a lot to learn and it's annoying how your definitions have to be perfect or you lose marks but I find it interesting which makes it easier to study

My whole class thought it was hard in fifth year, and I struggled with the maths but once you get to sixth year you'll see it's actually an easy course and you can learn off the methods for the problems

I agree with the big murph, despite the fact that he's the stupidest person in our year (if not school) and he doesn't do chemistry...

      and his hair is shit

i'm in 6th year and i'd definatley advise you to learn your definitions off as you learn them. Also, do not be afraid to ask questions if you don't understand something, don't let it pass because it will end up catching up with you when studying

im in 5th year and it is hard but I personally find it interesting so its not that bad. there are a lot of definitions to learn thats for sure.

Hated it in 5th yeah, starting to like it again in 6th.. The amount of titrations we had to do was ridiculous and incredibly boring but we've started doing other experiments now.

Im in my Leaving Cert. year and I regret not making a notepad of all the definitions. I don't know if I'll have the time to do it now. But to those in fifth year; I highly recommend it.

In 6th year - Use the marking schemes from past papers as study as well. You'll eventually see where theres repeating answers and how it all clicks together. Definitions are key. And just learning off stuff is pointless. Chem is all about applying the theory to various situations.
