    Subject Choices study person

Starting to talk about subject choices in school now, I was wondering if anyone had any subjects they would/wouldn't do and why?

i think it just depends on what u want to do after school.. i want to do medicine so I'm leaning towards subjects like biology and chemistry and i enjoy business and i find economics easy to learn so it also depends on ur personal strengths and weaknesses!

What if you're not sure on what course or career you want? Im so confused, but I dont want to limit my chances after secondary school by picking the wrong Leaving Cert subjects!:/

I suggest choose the subjects you like and drop the subjects you don't exactly enjoy. You know, it's not always about doing THE BEST course in college, it's a lot about what you would like to do and what you're good at. If you are to choose a career, pick one you like, and if there are lots you like, try and have all of them (maybe not all at once). You don't have to necessarily pick the subjects that have a lot of useful information or the subjects that deals with the most amazing careers. Find out what you're talents are and build from there. I found out that I was good at Maths and Science when I was young, so since then I always wanted to do Mathematics and Physics in college.

The bottom line is: the career you want is the one you like and the one you are good at, not what you think is the best.

What @Dazzla16 says is true, but you can also choose subjects that will leave your options open. For instance if you choose a language you are keeping the option to go to University open and if you choose a science subject you're as safe as can be because they are the basis of alot of courses. If your unsure of what course you want to do you can look at courses that are broad. These will give you time to assess what you might like to do.
