Studyclix is committed to enhancing the accessibility of our website for all users, including those with disabilities. We recognise the importance of an inclusive digital experience and remain dedicated to providing a user-friendly, accessible platform for everyone.
We strive to improve and maintain the accessibility of our website, following the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards. This statement outlines our efforts to provide a user-friendly experience for all visitors and highlights the steps we are taking to continuously improve accessibility across our digital platform.
Compliance Status
Our website is currently in the process of becoming fully compliant with the Web
Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. While significant progress has been made, there remain several areas that require improvement.
Areas for Improvement
1. Visual & Media Accessibility
Some images may not have alternative text, which helps screen reader users understand visual content. We are reviewing this and considering updates.
Some videos may not include captions or transcripts, which could make them less accessible for deaf or hard-of-hearing users. We are looking at ways to improve this where possible.
Some text and background colours may not provide sufficient contrast, making reading difficult for users with low vision. We are assessing colour use across the site.
2. Keyboard & Navigation Accessibility
Some parts of the site may not be fully navigable using a keyboard alone. We are reviewing how interactive elements function without a mouse.
In some areas, the focus order may not be logical, meaning users navigating with assistive technology might not experience content in the expected sequence.
3. Forms & Interactive Features
Some form fields may not have clear labels or instructions, making them harder for some users to complete. We are considering ways to improve this.
Certain error messages may not be announced properly to screen readers, which could make it harder to understand form errors.
4. Language & Readability
Some parts of our content, particularly our content in a language other than English, may not be correctly marked, which could affect how screen readers pronounce text.
Some links may not provide enough context, using terms like “click here” instead of a more descriptive label. We are reviewing how links are presented to improve clarity.
How we are going to improve accessibility
We are exploring ways to improve accessibility on Studyclix. Our approach includes:
- Improved Interactive and Navigational Elements:
- Our development team will refine keyboard navigation and interactive elements to ensure seamless use without a mouse. This includes adding proper focus indicators and optimising ARIA labels to assist users relying on assistive
- technologies.
- Revising our use of colour, colour contrast, keyboard navigation, and screen reader compatibility.
- Investigating ways to make content more user-friendly for all visitors.
Exemptions
- PDF documents published before 23 September 2018 are exempt from these guidelines unless they are essential for providing services to the public.
- Videos or audio content published before 23 September 2020 are also exempt.
Accessibility Evaluation Method
We evaluated the accessibility of Studyclix using the Website Accessibility Conformance Evaluation Methodology (WCAG-EM). A representative selection of pages was audited through a blend of automated and manual testing.
Automated testing was conducted with:
- ARC Toolkit
- Axe Devtools
Manual testing involved:
- Screen reader assessments using NVDA on Windows 11
