Introducing: Teacher Essay Breakdowns

By Nessa Dinneen - 2 minute read

Introducing a new Studyclix feature that is going to revolutionise your essay-writing ability!

Over the last couple of months, Studyclix has been working tirelessly with expert teachers to bring you a series of Essay Teardown videos.

We asked these teachers to take sample essays and break them down bit by bit to explain where marks were earned and where marks were lost. Giving you the insight you need to get those full marks - every time.

These essay teardown videos are available for a large number of English, Irish and History essays, and will give an incredible boost to your performance in those subjects.

How Do The Essay Breakdowns work?

Take a look for yourself! Here's an example of an Essay Breakdown expert teacher Ciara did for a Speech from the English Leaving Cert 2014 exam.

How Do I Access The Essay Teardown Videos?

To check them out:

  • 1

Find the subject on your Homepage.

  • 2

Click into the topic that the essay question falls under within English/Irish/History (ie. Poetry in English)

  • 3

Click on the Videos & Notes tab and watch the video!

You need to be on PLUS+ or PREMIUM☆ to access all the videos, if you'd like to upgrade, check out our pricing page.

FAQ:

Who wrote the essays?

Past LC students who scored highly in the exam.

Who created these videos?

Expert teachers who have also corrected the Leaving Cert exams in the past and know the requirements inside out.

Do you have OL essays & videos?

Not yet. Our videos are made based on how many essays we have gotten from past students. We don't get as many OL contributions as we do HL, but we're always looking out for them and will do our best to get some asap!

Why isn't there a video for every question?

Again, the videos are available based on the contributions we've received. If there isn't a video for a specific question, it's because we were never able to find someone who could contribute a sample essay on that question, but let us know which questions you'd really like to see a video/essay in and we'll do our best to try and source one!

Will this be available in more subjects soon?

That is definitely our aim. We hope to be able to continue these video series in more subjects that have essay or long-answer questions like this. Let us know via chat or email which subjects you'd like to see the most!

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out to us! We're always happy to help.
