Because students often dismiss it as unimportant, Unseen Poetry is one of the worst answered sections on the English paper.

But with practice, it's very doable to perform well in the Unseen Poetry section. Moreover - because it's the one part of the paper you can't prepare for - the marking scheme is very generous.

English teacher Peter Tobin is here to help Leaving Cert English students approach Unseen Poetry with confidence and gives his tips for structuring thoughtful and high-scoring analysis.
