JC History, how'd ye do?

Hey guys, history was today, i actually posted my predicitions on the people in history and anyone who saw them and learned the, certainly got full marks today. it was very relieving as i put alot of work into history, but at the end i would of lost at least 10 or so marks because i was quite appaled to see John Hume and Sean lemass in q6 part c, so iwent with the medieval ages, which isin't my strong suit so i only got half the marks or a bit more i'd say. And for Q5, who were the brothers on the other two ships (its not in our book there was no way of me knowing that) and whta was your reason for saying de las casas was biased or non biased? Love to hear what others thought

he wasnt biased because he gave both sides of the story- how peaceful the natives were and how horrible the spaniards were

i didnt know the brother. i said that it wasnt biased
MrKnowitall
also, what was the archaeologist holding? My superintendant literally came by and said that it is extremely hard to see, and that i'm almost better of puting down i couldn't see it in brackets and take a guess
MrKnowitall
but isin't that the point? could he have been trying to make the spaniards look evil intentionally?
flower3635
@Pacify ur so rats, he helped us all in fairness to him :expressionless::joy:

He was not biased because he didnt play down what the Spaniards did and he was a Spanish Dominican friar .
MrKnowitall
So basically i'd no clue about John Hume and its a pity cause irish history is my strong suit in q6 along with ww2 and the cold war.

Those captains are mentioned in some history books and not others ...Our book Discovering History did mention them but its annoying as other text books used by history teachers didn't. Same happened to me in Home Ec mocks some stuff came up that wasn't in our book but was in an older book used by my sister.

i thoght PIH Section A was good but I thought a rev. leader would come up so I had to answer a native irish landowner who lost lamd, didn’t answer it too badly tbh. I did not know tje two brothers either but i thought the Section C of question 5 was great because the portugal contribution was rlly easy to answer. I persoanlly looobed q6 coz i learned middle ages and the fact we only had to write one account on ww2 was class (i answered hitler and the jews) and i learned korean war off by heart so i acc liked that exam tbh lol sorry this is like an essay
dorktastic10
I said he was biased because in the start he used his opinion phrases as a fact “the indianda are the most peaceful...”. I justified my point so i think I got the marks tho

In reply to Alana Co's "yeah tahts annoying what would be the answer to the relations between the irish government and the UK becaue i was unsure" ... I knew everything FF did when in power between 1932-1939 but the way they asked that question I didn't put any of it, so am competely gutted.

I didn't get the brothers question either was not in my book? I said he was biased as he was definitely favouring the Indians over the Spaniards And I said brush but was extremely blurry?
amurphy123
how many marks would you lose for adding a couple lines in about the holocaust in the hitler and the jews 1933-1939 account.

i said i thought he was biased as he compared the distance from a place in the indies to something involving rome , so that he was eurocentric.

the biased Q was opinionated so long as u backe up your statement u were right aha
flower3635
not many to be honest because that counts as aftermath
MrKnowitall
lol man @1234566263 you probs wrote about Martin Luther XD. in all thought it was a fair enough exam, some questions a little bit strange or unfamiliar like the archeologist picture or the two captains, but other then that i guess it did cover the whole course. Can't wait to get done on Monday, my last exam is TG. Good luck to everyone else on their last exams.

I was distraught, I did awful! The questions especially Q6 part D was almost exactly the same to last year. I didn't study it as I presumed it wouln't come up. We don't do social change in my school and I knew very little about John Hume. I was hoping for a B but now I think I would have to settle on a C or maybe even a D!!!

do you think will get full marks if i wrote about the economic war and anglo irish agreement for the relationship between ireland england question
Football512
i know it was the pinzon brothers but said their names like martin pinzon and vincete pinzon
MrKnowitall
@Jm0123, if you really fleshed it out and gave 2 pieces of historical fact for the economic war and then 2 for the treaty, then yes definately.

i thought it went alright i got mixed up with dates with the michael collins but i wrote loads so ill probs get marks somwhere else. rest of it wasn't too hard but the brush was impossible to see and the brothers weren't in our book either
SarahWood1305
My history book never mentioned the other 2 captains either but it was only 2 marks so nothing to cry over. And for question 6, my teacher never covered any modern irish history past the 1930s or social changes so i knew i was gonna find it a bit difficult but i was pretty happy with Middle ages and im glad Hitler and the jews came up. I was really expecting Revelationary leader to come up and i have George Washington learned off by heart so i made a stab at Native whose land was taken, which all in all, went rather well. Also i said biased because he only pointed out flaws in the Spaniards and only highlights for the natives and used quotes to back it up.

@failingthejcwby magellan was portugese but sailed for spain so he doesn't count as a portugese explorer
