Practice exam questions. If you dont get the answer right write down the steps to get the right answer and the next day without looking at the correction do the question again. Repeat it for two days and then after a week.
From the book, attempt the example questions, if it's tricky, attempt similar exercise questions, then when you're confident with the chapter, do exam questions and when you have covered the whole book do full exam papers
I would use a combination of the textbook qs and the exam paper qs. I owuld first do the textbook qs as they would help you understand how to do those qs and then if i master them I would move on to exam qs to test yourself and to make yourself understand how a partucular topic is examined in the jc. Maths does require constant undestanding and reptition in my opinion to do well in, particualrly in hl
