Is much of JC accounting used in LC?

Accounting was my favourite part of jc business and i was thinking of doing it for lc, but i always hear about how hard it is. I just wanted to know if being good at accounting in the jc is of any help in the lc. If not accounting i was thinking of doing business. If anyone does both, how are they and which one is better overall

This is my perspective seen that I dont do business but I do accounting. Business from what I have heard from my friends are that there are a lot of theroy in it and if u dont like the theroy for jc business I don't adive you to do that. For accounting if u are interested in maths it would help cause most of it is simple calculation and there are not much theroy at all and for the most part you just need to be able to do the questions and your fine there is not much study you actually need. Last thing is that its similar to jc accounting for the basics of it but there are a lot of new thing too. Hope this helps.

Maths part isnt hard. Just need to learn layouts. Its not as hard as people make it out to be. Easy marks. Normally the theory is only worth about 10/15 marks of a question.

Hi! I do both business and accounting and they compliment each other really well. Some of the terms used in business can help with understanding accounting and the topic of Interpretation of Accounts is practically the same as the ratios topic in business. Accounting is quite easy once you learn the layouts of different accounts and keep practicing them. Business is really easy to understand its just quite a heavy subject with a lot of theory. If you've done it for junior cert you should be fine :)

sciencelover868 thanks a lot and of the two, which one woud you say in general is easier to score more points in. I am more of a mathsy person so i'd i say i would still stick with accounting but i'd like to know which one you think is better.

I personally think they're both as easy/difficult as each other. I can't choose between the two on that as I have the same grade in both. If you're more of a maths person though I'd say to stick with accounting as its practical and you study it the same way as studying maths, practising as many questions as you can. There is a little bit of theory in accounting but it's very basic. Accounting is my favourite subject and it's easy to score high if you enjoy it. Hope this helps :)

Well basically none of JC Accounting carried over to LC for me while a lot of JC Business does for LC Business. I do both and i would defintly say Business is easier. A much less stressful subject.

Both junior circle old and new have chapters in business can't figure out why can understand it and at the same time expect you to know concepts if never did it before very confusing.
