Hey
I wanted to start Studying Agriculture so it easier on myself in the future, i really wanna self teach myself so i know the basics of raising a dairy herd!!!
Sound :ok_hand::tractor::dash:
heya! thats a great idea, i wonder do you have a farm you could help out on? im from a dairy farm and ive learned more listening to my dad than textbooks, so getting out doing practical stuff should help a lot, especially when stuff is hard to visualise.
these are the notes we were given, theres loads on this website- https://www.castlecomercs.com/images/AgSciNotes/AgSci1/24DairyCattle1.pdf
i would just be mindful of the new specifications for incoming ag sci students, and what you acc need to know- i was caught out on that! https://curriculumonline.ie/Senior-cycle/Senior-Cycle-Subjects/Agricultural-Science/
reading the farmers journal, watching ear to the ground, farmflix etc will all help massively:)
hope this helps!
Thanks, i do work on a farm that minds Dairy cattle and i work there when i have a couple hours to kill, i record everything and upload it to YT so other poeple could see what i get up to on the Farm, i never really knew the basics of raising cattle or how to make TMR or help a heifer with a certain disease, so sound for that Aisling :wink:
