If you have the option of getting a 1 on 1 tutor, go for it and ask them to start from scratch so that you can go over even the stuff you didn't understand in Junior Cert. Don't bother with grinds because depending on the teacher and class size, they mightn't be able to get around to you individually and won't be able to go over absolutely everything you don't understand because they don't want to hold back the class. It's really important to be able to understand most if not all of maths to get a H1, so a tutor is really good because they teach at your pace and all of their attention is on you and you can take as long as you want on certain chapters without feeling pressurized to hurry up. Just make sure they teach Leaving Cert Maths specifically so they can tell you where and what you get marks from and only teach you the material you need to know for the exams.
