Are you in TY now? If so and you were in a HL class for all of the JC then why not. You will have covered the JCHL course and be at the same level as those who sat the Higher Level paper. Whilst the OL exam will have been alot easier an A is a good result and shows you are fairly capable at Maths, though you would have to work from the start. If you are in 5th year now and have been in OL for the year to date well that might be a different story. I would be surprised if you would be let into the HL class at this stage as you would have missed so much?

Ask yourself this - if they took away the extra 25pts would you even need to think about it? Unless you are actually thinking of an engineering or maths/physics course or a course that specifically asks for Higher level maths only - looking at requirements on Qualifax - seems that most courses that accept a H6 also accept an O6 - if you aren't naturally mathsy - then stick with OL and enjoy all the extra time on your other subjects to get the higher grades there! But check out the courses that you think you might be interested in to make sure that it is NOT a requirement! My sister switched to OL in Oct of 6th year and didn't even count it for her Leaving and got 552pts! But, she was raging she did it at all as only when she dropped it did she realise how much of her time it was actually taking away from her other subjects and even with all that effort she would have been lucky to get a H4/5.
