Help with the Practical :)

Hi lads, I'm doing music and obviously the practical is a massive thing. I'm doing six songs for piano (I've finished grade 8) andI'm just wondering whether anyone has any nice songs that they can recommend me? (Just names like from a movie or piece etc.) Not too hard or anything! Any genre either. This would really help!

i was in the same boat as you last year except i never got to do my praticial. however my music teacher always suggested that you do one piece from 1 genre. For me i did one "irish piece", one "bach" style piece, a spainish piece, a chopin nocturne, a jazz piece (stuttin at thr waldorf or private dectective by philip lane is amazing) and a lullaby by schuman called child falling asleep. hope this helps

My teacher has recommended picking a variety of pieces from different time periods - I'm personally doing a transcription of a Bach Cantata (Baroque), Chopin's Waltz in B Minor (Romantic), the 2nd movement of Beethoven's Pathetique Sonata (Classical) and Debussy The Little Shepherd (Impressionist). I think the main thing is to pick pieces you are comfortable with and can play well.
