Partial marks in formula qs
gkya Leaving Cert Physics1

would you be awarded some marks for writing down the formula in your answer (even if substitution was wrong).. also if you got a wrong answer in part i, then used that answer for part ii, how much marks would you lose- given everything was okay. thank you

You will usually get some marks for writing down the correct formula (usually 3 marks). If you use a wrong answer in a later part, but you method is correct, you shouldn't get penalised for that., unless it somehow trivialises the next part i.e. it makes the next part way easier than it's supposed to be. You should only lose marks for a mistake once.
