JUNIOR CERT CONFUSION & STRESS
Aisha322 The Junior Cert10

Hey guys, I'm kinda confused and stressed about the Junior Cert, since most of us are managing with online school, I am finding that I am getting a lot of homework which is stressing me out cuz I was supposed to study for the JC the weeks we had off but now I am finding it difficult to manage both hw and study. Also how are you guys dealing with the situation and any predictions if the JC will be postponed, cancelled or just stay the way that it is? Also, remember to stay safe!! 0 Comments

im exactly the same. When we were told there was no school for a few weeks i was so happy to finally feel like i would have the time to study for the JC (since i always get a crazy amount of homework to do after school and never have time to revise) and be prepared for it, but now i wake up everyday dreading the fact that i need to look on google classroom for the literally 8 hours worth of work to do. This was no help to you sorry ahaha but just thought id say that. Also personally i really hope this whole JC thing is cancelled it would take so much stress off me.

@Emmab135, exactly. I'm glad I'm not the only one that feels this way because before we were in school I used to also get too much homework to be able to get time to study and now it's the same for me in Google classroom.. I wish teachers would understand that we need to study as well :(

ya its the same for me. Like we are expected to study for the jc but where am i meant to get the time. In my school we use Microsoft Teams for assignments and stuff but like yesterday i was sitting down on my laptop at 9.30am and i was still there at 6.30pm. Its a joke how much work we have to do and im already so stressed about the jc and now im stressed about handing in assignments on time. And really tho who is actually going to be able to learn new stuff through a laptop. Oh and I heard that if this goes on for ages that they are thinking about giving everyone their mock results. Which I hope dosent happen because we didnt have the course finished for alot of our subjects when we did the mocks. I dont know how true that is though.

@chloebarrett17, I hope they don't use the mock results too because we also didn't have the course finished that time so it wouldn't be fair if they choose to do that, I'd much rather the jc to get postponed so we atleast have time to study because this online thing is stressing me out

@Aisha322 and @chloebarrett17 sum it well up. I genuinely am struggling to find time to study and the hape load of work. I think more likely it is going ahead as usual but the department of education is saying they would try to follow England (they cancelled GCSEs) and cancel JC to prioritise Leaving Cert.

Completely agree! Its so unfair we are being assesed the same as ther years when we are trying to study in the midst of a pandemic! Predicted grades with those who are unhappy sitting another exam later would be the best

If I were you I'd just focus on subjects that are useful for your leaving cert, such as maths and irish and whichever language you're going to be doing for the leaving cert, and geography is also quite relevant too. That why if the junior cert is cancelled, you will have relevant revision done for the real thing! Don't stress too much about it.
