I'm in sixth year and i'm taking Leaving Cert P.E. I absolutely love it!! Although i think you have to have a real interest in sport it really isn't as simple as people think. Your'e not just getting points for kicking a football with your classmates in the gym. There is a 50% practical project which splits into two parts the 1st 20% goes to a six week training analysis that you undertake in your own chosen sport. This is done in sixth year so is time consuming but really interesting if you have an interest in sport and want to learn how to become an overall better athlete. The next 30% is an 8 minute video of you preforming a sport assigned to you by your teacher. The other 50% is theory based. The theory is very detailed as it goes into biomechanics and training principles, but it's definitely manageable. Overall it's a great subject, i absolutely love sport and it blows my mind that I can earn leaving cert points whilst also improving as an athlete, it's amazing to see your own progress from start to finish.

I do it and personally dont like it despite absolutly loving sport and playing constantly. Im just the type of person where i perfer to keep sport a hobby. Also there being little exam papers to go off really doesnt help
