Exam
The final exam is worth 30% of overall marks. It is one paper and has a duration of 1.5 hours.
Classroom-Based Assessments
There are two CBA's: CBA 1 is titled 'Engineering in Action', CBA 2 is titled 'Research and Development'. CBA 1 involves an investigation and presentation on an application of engineering. CBA 2 involves researching an aspect of the topic assigned for the Project assessment.
Project
Students must complete a project on completion of the CBA's. The SEC willl prescribe a topic for the project. This is worth 70% of overall marks.
Future Careers
Engineering is useful for careers as a Mechanic, Panel Beater, Welder, Plumber, Electronic and Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Aircraft Technician, Army/Air Corps and Industrial Design.
