What's involved?

Assessment for graphics consists of three parts: Classroom-Based Assessments (CBAs), the Assessment Task and the written exam. Here's a breakdown:

CBAs

Students must complete two CBAs. CBA 1 is titled 'communicating through sketching' where students must graphically communicate their ideas using 2D and 3D sketching techniques based on a theme. CBA 2 is called 'graphical presentation skills' and students must research and investigate a topic and present their findings.

Assessment Task

This is a project based on CBA 2 and is worth 30% of the overall grade. Students will have to complete 3 outputs:

  • Output 1: responding to a theme informed by the work of CBA 2.
  • Output 2: dimensioned drawings.
  • Output 3: three-dimensional computer-aided design modelling.
Written exam

This is worth 70% of the overall grade. The exam is 2 hours long and common level. Students must answer all the questions in the paper (there is no choice).
