Pictiúr 1

Sa phictiúr seo, tá Síle ag baint taitnimh as oíche ag an dioscó lena cairde agus feicimid iad ag canadh agus ag damhsa le chéile.

Síle is enjoying a night at the disco with her friends and we see them singing and dancing together

Níl cíos, cás nó cathú orthu.

They haven’t a care in the world

Ag deireadh na hoíche, socraíonn Síle agus Sinéad dul chun sceallóga agus borgairí a fháil toisc go bhfuil siad stiúgtha leis an ocras.

At the end of the night Síle and Sinéad decide to go get chips and burgers as they’re starving

Pictiúr 2

Ag a seacht a chlog an mhaidin dár gcionn, buaileann clog aláraim Shíle agus múchann sí é.

At 7 o'clock the following morning, Síle’s alarm rings and she turns it off

Is ar éigean atá sí in ann bogadh, tá sí chomh lag sin.

She’s hardly able to move, she’s so weak

Glaonn sí ar a máthair, ag rá léi go bhfuil sí traochta amach is amach.

She calls her mother, telling her she’s totally wrecked

Pictiúr 3

Is léir go bhfuil Síle in umar na haimléise ach níl trua dá laghad ag a máthair di agus seolann sí ar scoil í.

It’s clear that Sile’s in a bad way but her mother has no pity for her and sends her to school

Faigheann sí an bus ag geata an tí agus tá an bháisteach ag stealladh anuas ar Shíle bhocht.

She gets the bus at the gate of the house and it’s teeming rain down on poor Síle

Pictiúr 4

Feicimid Síle sa rang tíreolaíochta agus tá scrúdú tábhachtach ar siúl aici.

We see Síle in geography class and she’s doing an important test

Ní féidir leí díriú ar an scrúdú áfach toisc go bhfuil tinneas cinn uafásach chomh maith le fonn cur amach uirthi.

She can’t concentrate on the test however, as she has a terrible headache and feels like throwing up

Ní féidir a shéanadh go bhfuil sí i gcruachás ceart.

One cannot deny that she’s in a bad way

Pictiúr 5

Iarrann Síle cead dul amach óna múinteoir agus ligeann sé amach í.

Síle asks for permission to leave from her teacher and he lets her out

Téann sí díreach chun labhairt leis an bpríomhoide.

She goes directly to speak to the principal

Insíonn sí di go bhfuil pian uafásach ina bolg aici agus go bhfuil sí fíor-lag.

She tells her that she has a terrible pain in her stomach and that she feels really weak

Tá cuma bhuartha ar an bpríomhoide.

The principal looks worried

Pictiúr 6

Tugann an príomhoide díreach chuig an dochtúir í agus aithníonn sé láithreach go bhfuil nimhiú bia ar Shíle bhocht.

The principal takes her straight to the doctor and he immediately recognises that she has food poisoning

Molann siad di sos leapa a thógáil go dtí go dtiocfaidh feabhas uirthi.

They advise her to stay in bed until she gets better

Ní dóigh liom go mbeidh sí ag ithe borgairí arís go ceann i bhfad.

I don’t think that she’ll be eating burgers again for a long time
