Pictiúr 1
Sa phictiúr seo, labhraíonn Bean Uí Riain leis na daltaí faoi thoghchán a reáchtáilfear sa scoil chun Scoláire na Bliana a roghnú.
In this picture, Mrs Ryan speaks to the students about an election that will be held in the school to pick a Student of the Year.
Déanann sí cur síos ar na tréithe atá riachtanach chomh maith leis na dualgais a bheidh le comhlíonadh ag an mbuaiteoir.
She describes the traits that are essential as well as the duties that will have to be fulfilled by the winner.
Iarrann sí ar na daltaí machnamh a dhéanamh sula gcaitheann said a gcuid vótaí.
She asks the students to have a good think before casting their votes.
Pictiúr 2
Tá an toghchán faoi lán seoil agus feicimid na daltaí ag fanacht chun a gcuid vótaí a chaitheamh.
The election is underway and we see the students waiting to cast their votes.
Is léir go bhfuil Bean Uí Riain ag coimeád súil ghéar orthu.
It’s clear that Mrs Ryan is keeping a good eye on them.

Sa phictiúr seo, tá comhaireamh na vótaí ar siúl san oifig ghinearálta.
In this picture, the count is happening in the office.
Cabhraíonn duine de na múinteoirí le Bean Uí Riain leis an tasc seo.
One of the teachers helps Mrs Ryan with this task.
Folmhaíonn siad an bosca vótála ar an deasc agus tosaíonn siad ag comhaireamh.
They empty the ballot box on the desk and begin counting.

Lá na dtorthaí atá ann agus tagann an scoil iomlán le chéile i halla na scoile.
It’s results day and the whole school comes together in the school hall.

Up on the stage, we see the principal, the deputy and Mrs Ryan.

The principal announces that he has the result and he shows the winner’s trophy to the crowd.
Tá na daltaí go léir ar bís.
All the students are excited.

The award has been won by Sandra Ní Cheallaigh.
Tugann gach éinne bualadh bos mór di.
Everyone gives her a big round of applause.
Tá ar Sandra dul suas chuig an stáitse.
Sandra has to go up to the stage.

Tagann Sandra ar an stáiste agus bronnann an príomhoide an corn uirthi.
Sandra comes on stage and the principal awards her the trophy.

Sandra is shocked that she has won Student of the Year.

The principal tells her that she deserves her success.

She always displays great behaviour, she works hard and helps others whenever she can.
