Tráthnóna amháin téann ceathrar cairde, Máire, Seán, Siobhán agus Maidhc, amach go bialann Iodálach darb ainm “Pasta Blasta” le ceilúradh a dhéanamh ar bhreithlá Sheáin.
One evening four friends, Máire, Seán, Siobhán and Maidhc, all go to an Italian restaurant called “Pasta Blasta” to celebrate Seán’s birthday.

Cuireann an freastalaí fáilte rompu agus taispeánann sé a mbord dóibh.
The waiter welcomes them and shows them their table.

Tá sé in aice na fuinneoige agus tá radharc álainn acu.
It’s next to the window and they have a lovely view.

I bpictiúr a dó, tá an grúpa ag féachaint ar an mbiachlár, ag déanamh iarrachta rud éigin ón liosta fada a phiocadh le hithe.
In picture two, the group is looking at the menu, trying to pick something to eat from the long list.

Is léir gur bialann Iodálach í mar go bhfuil an-chuid grianghraf den tír ar an mballa.
It’s clear it’s an Italian restaurant because there are a lot of pictures of the country on the wall.

Tá sladmhargadh ar siúl sa bhialann don deireadh seachtaine. Tá pasta na Róimhe ar díol ar phraghas íseal.
There’s a sale on in the restaurant for the weekend where Roman pasta is on sale for a low price.

As eireaball a shúile, feiceann Seán fón póca atá fágtha ina dhiaidh ag duine éigin.
From the corner of his eye, Seán sees a mobile phone that someone left behind.

Piocann Seán suas an fón póca agus téann sé chun caint leis an bhfreastalaí chun an scéal a mhíniú dó.
Seán picks up the phone and goes up to the waiter to explain the story.

“Bhí fón póca fágtha ar an urlár in aice liom”, arsa Seán, “is dócha go bhfuil sé caillte ag duine éigin agus go bhfuil sé á lorg anois”.
“There was a phone left on the floor beside me”, says Seán, “I suppose someone has lost it and is now looking for it”.

Gabhann an freastalaí buíochas le Seán as ucht a mhacántachta agus filleann Seán ar an mbord.
The waiter thanks Seán for his honesty and Seán goes back to the table.

Coimeádann an freastalaí an fón in áit shábháilte ar feadh tamaill.
The waiter keeps the phone in a safe place for a while.

Sa phictiúr seo, tá an bia ar an mbord agus tá an ceathrar acu ag baint an-taitneamh as an mbéile.
In this picture, the food is on the table and the four are really enjoying the meal.

Tá píotsa, pasta, uisce agus deoch shúilíneach, i measc nithe blasta eile, á n-ithe agus á n-ól acu. Níl an béile daor agus tá sé an-bhlasta, dar leo.
Pizza, pasta, water and a fizzy drink are among some of the things being eaten and drank. The meal isn’t dear and it’s very tasty, according to them.

In áit éigin eile, feicimid úinéir an fhóin agus é cráite amach 's amach faoina fhón. Níl cliú dá laghad aige cár fhág sé é.
Somewhere else, we see the owner of the phone worried sick about his phone. He hasn’t a clue where he left it.

Beartaíonn sé filleadh ar an mbialann le fiosrú ar fhág sé ann é.
He decides to go back to the restaurant to check if he left it there.

Sroicheann úinéir an fhóin an bhialann agus tugtar a fhón ar ais dó. Tá an t-ádh dearg leis!
The owner of the phone reaches the restaurant and he gets his phone back. He’s very lucky!

Gabhann sé buíochas ollmhór le Seán agus deir sé go raibh sé an-bhuartha faoina fhón mar go mbíonn sé ag teastáil uaidh i gcónaí.
He thanks Seán greatly and says that he was very worried about his phone because he always needs it.

Tá Seán sásta leis féin go ndearna sé an rud ceart.
Seán is happy with himself that he did the right thing.

I bpictiúr a sé, tugann úinéir an fhóin fiche euro don fhreastalaí le híoc as milseog an duine don cheathrar a chabhraigh leis.
In picture six, the owner of the phone gives €20 to the waiter to pay for a dessert for each of the four that helped him.

Tagann an freastalaí chuig an mbord le ceithre ghloine lán le huachtar reoite, ceann amháin an duine.
The waiter comes to the table with four glasses full of ice cream, one per person.

Tá ríméad ar an gceathrar. Ní raibh siad ag súil leis sin, ábhar iontais iontach atá ann.
The four are thrilled. They weren’t expecting that, it's a great surprise.

Baineann siad sult as an gcuid eile den oíche. Is léir gur fiú an rud ceart agus macánta a dhéanamh i gcónaí.
They enjoy the rest of the night. It’s clear it’s always worth doing the right and honest thing.
