A Guide to the Irish Education System by The ISSU

By Lauren Gillane - 2 minute read

The Irish Second Level Students' Union has proudly launched their Guide to the Irish Education System, with support from the Department of Education, the Ombudsman for Children's Office and Luke Saunders from Studyclix.

Many children and their parents can find the Irish Education System overwhelming, and difficult to understand, especially those who are newly living in Ireland.

The guide aims to give all the information that one might need to better understand the system, make informed choices and have the ability to thrive during their years of education.

But firstly, who are the ISSU?

They strive to uplift, represent and defend the voice of all second-level students by providing a collective voice. They fight for a fair education system that values each individual and allows them to reach their full potential, and they work to end disparity in student services based on socioeconomic backgrounds.
