Junior Cert Classical Studies is all about Greek and Roman civilizations. Within it, you'll learn all about the wonderful world of Greek and Roman history, drama, architecture, literature, art and philosophy.

Assessment

Exam
The final exam is a 2 hour paper, worth 90% of overall marks.
Classroom-Based Assessments
CBA 1 is entitled 'storytelling using myth', while CBA 2 is on 'Rome; centre of an empire'. Students must complete an Assessment Task based on CBA 2 which is worth 10% of the overall marks. This will assess the students ability to evaluate new knowledge, reflect on the skills they have developed and develop their understanding of other cultures.
Future Careers
Junior Cycle Classics gives students a foundation for careers in Teaching, Archaeology, Theology, Journalism and History among others.
