Pictiúr 1
Dé hAoine atá ann tar éis na scoile. Ar a leathuair tar éis a ceathair, fágann Mamaí agus Daidí a bpáistí sa bhaile.
It is Friday, after school. At half-four, Mammy and Daddy leave their children at home.
Tá siad ag dul ar saoire don deireadh seachtaine agus fillfidh siad ar an Domhnach ar a leathuair tar éis a trí.
They are going on holiday for the weekend and will return on Sunday at half past three.
Tá Liam agus Amy fágtha sa bhaile in a n-aonar lena n-obair bhaile.
Liam and Amy are left at home alone with their homework.
Iarrann Mamaí orthu a bheith cúramach agus ar ndóigh an teach a choimeád glan an t-am ar fad.
Mammy asks them to be careful and of course to keep the house tidy the entire time.
Pictiúr 2
Díreach nuair atá a dtuismitheoirí imithe, cuireann na páistí an obair bhaile ar leataobh agus piocann said suas a ngutháin.
Immediately when their parents were gone, the children left their homework to one side and picked up their phones.
Socraíonn said cóisir a chur ar siúl agus cuireann siad glaoch ar a gcairde uilig. Tugann siad cuireadh dóibh teacht chuig cóisir anocht ar a hocht a chlog.
They decide to throw a party and they call all of their friends. They invite them to come over to a party tonight at 8 o’clock.
Míníonn siad dóibh go bhfuil a dtuismitheoirí imithe go dtí an Domhnach agus go bhfuil teach saor acu anocht. Beidh craic, ceol, bia, spórt agus spraoi acu.
They explain to them that their parents are gone and that they have a free house tonight. There will be fun, music and food.
Pictiúr 3
Feicimid go bhfuil an chóisir faoi lán seoil. Tagann a gcairde go léir.
We see that the party is in full swing. All their friends came.
Tá slua mór daoine ann roimh a naoi agus tá chuile dhuine ag baint taitneamh as an teach gan tuismitheoirí.
There is a large group of people there before 9 pm and everyone is enjoying the parent-free house.
Ag an am céanna, tá tuismitheoirí Liam agus Amy sona sásta in Óstán an Átha.
At the same time, Liam and Amy's parents are very happy in Óstán an Átha.
Tá béile blasta á ithe acu agus níl buairt ar bith orthu.
They have a lovely meal and are not worried in the least.
Pictiúr 4
An lá dar gcionn, dúisíonn na páistí ar a haon a chlog.
The next day, the children wake at 1 pm.
Tá an teach go hiomlán millte. Tá gach rud salach agus tá an teach ar fad ina phraiseach.
The house is totally destroyed. Everything is dirty and the house is a complete mess.
Tá Amy ag iarraidh tús a chur leis an nglanadh láithreach ach tá tinneas póite ar Liam.
Amy wants to make a start to the cleaning-up straight away but Liam has a hangover.
Socraíonn siad an glanadh suas a thosnú níos déanaí agus dul ar ais a chodladh anois.
They decide to start the cleaning later and go back to sleep for now.
Níl siad buartha ar chor ar bith mar tá a fhios acu nach mbeidh a dtuismitheoirí ar ais abhaile go dtí an Domhnach.
They aren’t worried at all as they know that their parents won’t be back home until Sunday.
Pictiúr 5
Ag an am céanna, tá fadhb san Óstán. Tá an t-uisce briste agus tá an leictreachas gearrtha.
At the same time, there is a problem in the hotel. The water is broken and the electricity has been cut.
Tá an-bhrón ar bhainisteoir an óstáin. Tugann sé trí rogha do na custaiméirí.
The manager of the hotel is very apologetic. He gives the customers three options.
D'fhéadfaidís dul go hóstán eile, nó an t-airgead a fháil ar ais nó dhá oíche saor in aisce a fháil am éigin eile.
They could go to another hotel, they could get their money back or they could have two nights free of charge another time.
Roghnaíonn na tuismitheoirí teacht ar ais uair eile agus dul abhaile go luath.
The parents decide to come back another time and go home early.
Pictiúr 6
Mar sin, léimeann siad isteach sa charr agus téann siad díreach abhaile.
So they jump into the car and go straight home.
Faraor, sroicheann siad an teach ar a cúig a chlog agus an áit fós ina praiseach. Tá siad an-chrosta ar fad leis na páistí.
Unfortunately, they reach the house at 5 o'clock when the house is still a mess. They are very cross with the children.
Déanann na páistí iarracht an scéal a mhíniú ach níl maitheas ar bith ann. Ní chreideann a dtuismitheoirí an damáiste atá déanta.
The children try to explain what happened but it is no good. Their parents do not believe the damage that has been done.
Ní fhágfaidh na tuismitheoirí a bpáistí in a n-aonar arís!
The parents will never leave their children alone again!
